In this week's video we will look at subtle and emotive vibrato and next Wed, we'll tackle string bending.

Both techniques will add 'seasoning' to your playing.

It's amazing what you can do with 4-notes! Actually, some of the most sophisticated solos are super simple. Don't over complicate your solos - keep it simple, in the groove and I promise you, you'll be in business.

Spice up your chords, Spice up Your Life 🇬🇧👯🎤🎵 (a little Spice Girl reference because, you know, I’m British.) Use the old SUS chords to add interest to those same 4-chords you see in all Pop/Rock songs.

Take this finger strength exercise for example. I normally will do it as I'm watching a True Crime documentary. At the moment, the BBC's Rupert Murdoch doco. Fascinating shit. And horrifying.

In today's video, I teach you this riff and tell the story of how I got started at 15 years old. Shout to my mate, Ben Smith, who all those years ago scribbled out a few chords for me on an A4 sheet of paper including the open E pentatonic scale.
